Looking Forward: Steps to Success in 2025

2025 New Years Goals Banner

Well 2025 has officially begun and it’s time to think ahead of what you would like to accomplish this year. I'm not talking about the typical New Year's resolutions that most people make and often fail to keep. Instead, I mean setting clear business and personal goals for the upcoming year. There are two types of goals: short-term and long-term.

Short-term goals might include losing 5 pounds to fit into a dress for a special event. Long-term goals, on the other hand, could focus on overall health. This might involve drinking more water, getting more sleep, improving your diet, and exercising regularly.

So here are some of my long term goals for 2025:

Work Smarter, Not Harder

You've probably heard the phrase "work smarter, not harder," which emphasizes the importance of being more efficient and focusing on what truly matters. Being organized also plays a critical role, as disorganization can waste a significant amount of time. I always considered myself an organized person but one of my goals for 2025 is to become more organized. Did you know that January is the Get Organized Month! Maybe I’ll blog on that next week!

Professional Growth

I plan to continue improving my website. I want to focus more on enhancing SEO (which at the moment seems a little overwhelming), blogging more often, and expanding my product line. I’m considering hiring someone to help with SEO optimization so I can concentrate on design. But there are so many companies out there that offer this service and the price varies greatly. Has anyone had any success hiring out? If so, I’d love to know.

I want to open a Zazzle store, and I have already started adding products. One of the great things about Zazzle is that they handle all the logistics. Once I upload my designs, Zazzle offers a variety of products for customers to choose from. This means my customers will have more options beyond just prints and canvases. With Zazzle, I can increase my passive income, allowing me to focus more on design instead of solely on sales.

In case you're not familiar, passive income is defined as income that requires little to no active effort. For example, I consider my printable shop on Etsy to be a source of passive income. I currently have about 200 items in my shop and I am adding new items to my website weekly.

Pinterest Marketing

I want to continue my Pinterest journey. Did you know that marketing on Pinterest is an excellent way to promote your brand and drive traffic to your website? In 2025, I plan to focus more on Pinterest than on Facebook and Instagram.

Just For Me

Work shouldn’t be “all work and no play.” I love crafting and want to do more because I enjoy creating things with my Cricut. I'm interested in expanding my skills, although I feel unsure about selling my items. I've found that crafting is very relaxing. Did you know that crafting stimulates the production of dopamine, the hormone that makes us feel happy?

What are some of your goals for the new year? I’d love to hear…

Hi, I’m Susan! I’ve spent the last 10 years building my online company. I’ve always loved everything to do with design. In fact, after raising my kids, I decided to go to school and get my degree in Interior Design. While running my own interior design company, I started teaching and found that teaching was what I really loved. Combine that with Interior Design and well, you could say I was on cloud nine. I always loved the technical side of design which led me to graphic design and after studying graphic design, I was encouraged to open an Etsy shop to sell some of my creations. With my attention to detail and being somewhat of a perfectionist, graphic design made perfect sense. In December of 2018, I decided to retire from teaching and devote myself full time to my business and I haven’t looked back since! I love designing art for the home and would love to create something special for you.

It’s true what they say, “Love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life.”
