Why I Blog

I started blogging in 2013 which means I have been blogging for about 5 years now. Why do I do it? Well I started blogging to promote my Etsy business. Isn’t that why everyone blogs? To promote a business? Well maybe not. Many blog to make money, some blog to create a journal, others blog to give advice. I guess I blog for all three of those reasons.

Over the years (and there have been many of those), I have had many different hobbies – art, crafts, sewing, decorating, knitting, just to name a few. I’ve been a bank teller, a child care provider, an office manager, a designer, and a teacher. I’ve been a daughter, a wife, a mom, and a grandmother. I guess what I am trying to say is that I have a lot of experience, so I began blogging to share some of my stories, my projects, and my designs.

My favorite things to blog about are my projects. I’ve tried lots of DIY projects over the years. Some have been successful and some not so much. I’ve shared some of my student’s work. I’ve shared my decorating tips and my projects. I’ve shared my business in hopes of growing it. So, I’ll continue to blog about the things I do, projects I undertake and the art I design.

Although I have challenges, here are my top 5 reasons that I blog:

1.       To inspire others and be inspired

2.       To grow my confidence

3.       To share what I am passionate about

4.       To build my brand

5.       To allow my customers to get to know me

Thanks for stopping by. If you aren’t already following me, I hope you will.

Until next time,

Hi, I’m Susan! I’ve spent the last 10 years building my online company. I’ve always loved everything to do with design. In fact, after raising my kids, I decided to go to school and get my degree in Interior Design. While running my own interior design company, I started teaching and found that teaching was what I really loved. Combine that with Interior Design and well, you could say I was on cloud nine. I always loved the technical side of design which led me to graphic design and after studying graphic design, I was encouraged to open an Etsy shop to sell some of my creations. With my attention to detail and being somewhat of a perfectionist, graphic design made perfect sense. In December of 2018, I decided to retire from teaching and devote myself full time to my business and I haven’t looked back since! I love designing art for the home and would love to create something special for you.

It’s true what they say, “Love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life.”
