Print or Canvas: How to Choose (Part Two)

In my last post, I explained the differences between prints and canvases.. Today’s post will discuss the pros and cons of each type of print. Hopefully this will help you to make your decision.

Remember whether you choose print or canvas is a personal decision and is based on many things including: budget, finish desired, what you are hanging and where you are hanging.

CONS

  1. Frames can add quite a bit to the overall price and should match the overall decor of your space.

  2. Prints are commonplace.

  3. Because they are under glass, there is often a glare.

  4. Larger sizes are heavy and expensive.

  5. Larger sizes will be harder to hang.

In Conclusion

At the end of the day, it really depends upon what you like, your budget, and your needs. Some people will always prefer the traditional look of a framed print. Framed prints are timeless and will never go out of style. Others prefer the frameless look of a canvas and the flexibility of having large or multi-panel artwork in their space.

Hopefully, I have explained the differences between print and canvas and the pros and cons of each. If you missed part one of this series, please be sure to check it out here.
