DIY - How to Create Button Monogram Wall Art

About a year ago, I made a button initial pillow for my granddaughter Adrianna.  With the upcoming arrival of my second granddaughter, I decided to make button monogram wall art. For inspiration, I looked on Pinterest for ideas. Here is the finished product:

First thing I did was buy some gray and white chevron fabric (from Hobby Lobby).  The fabric was $6.99 a yard.

Next I purchased an assortment of pink buttons from Mellow Moon Supply. Lynda was very helpful in helping me select the colors I needed and I received my buttons in just a couple of days.  I spent about $20 on buttons.

I purchased a 16 x 20 canvas from Joann's on sale for $6.99.

Next I tried out some different fonts and decided on a modified Times New Roman font for the letter C.  I sized it and printed it out to fit the canvas.

I laid out the buttons to get an idea of placement.

Then I began sewing and sewing and sewing.  It wasn't really that bad.  It took three nights while watching TV.  I wrapped the fabric around the canvas, stapled it to the back, trimmed, and finally added clear wrapping tape to finish it off.

Finally I purchased a frame from Amazon for about $25.  My daughter loves it!  Here it is in the nursery:

Here is the button pillow I made last year with a link for a complete tutorial.

Button Art can cost upwards of $150 and more and I understand why because it is time consuming.  But if you have the time and the desire, you can do it!
