DIY - Another Decoupage Project

DIY

When I find something I like to do, I tend to do it over and over again.  For example, ever find that perfect t-shirt or pair of shoes?  Well if I do, I have to have it in several colors.  My kids make fun of me al the time!  It's the same thing with my projects.  Here is my latest decoupage project.

I started with a paper mache bust that I bought at Hobby Lobby for a few dollars.

The first thing I did was paint it an off white.  Then I applied my favorite papers using watered down Elmer's Glue.  I used graphics from The Graphics Fairy and some scrapbooking papers that I had.

To speed the drying process, I used my hair dryer.

I used a satin varnish when the bust was dry and then added some brown glaze that I immediately wiped off for an antique look. Here it is on my dresser.  I also bought the burlap runner at Hobby Lobby.  You can also see the project I did last week - the plant holder.

Here are my projects so far (Notice the Parisian flare):

I wonder what I will do next?

Thanks for stopping by...

Until next time,

Hi, I’m Susan! I’ve spent the last 10 years building my online company. I’ve always loved everything to do with design. In fact, after raising my kids, I decided to go to school and get my degree in Interior Design. While running my own interior design company, I started teaching and found that teaching was what I really loved. Combine that with Interior Design and well, you could say I was on cloud nine. I always loved the technical side of design which led me to graphic design and after studying graphic design, I was encouraged to open an Etsy shop to sell some of my creations. With my attention to detail and being somewhat of a perfectionist, graphic design made perfect sense. In December of 2018, I decided to retire from teaching and devote myself full time to my business and I haven’t looked back since! I love designing art for the home and would love to create something special for you.

It’s true what they say, “Love what you do, and you will never work a day in your life.”
