Celebrating 40,000 Sales on Etsy

I am super excited to announce that this month we celebrate 40,000 sales on Etsy! If I had known back in 2012 when it all started that my shop would grow to 40,000 sales in just 10 1/2 years, I would have said “Impossible!” “No way!” Etsy started as a side job for me in 2012. At the time, I was teaching interior design full-time at a local college. It took quite a while to grow to what it is today. In 2014 my full-time job ended and I began teaching part-time at a different college. Teaching part-time allowed me to spend more time on my business and also allowed me to start my own stand-alone website. In 2018 I found myself teaching less and less so it was an easy decision to stop teaching altogether and devote myself fully to my online store. This was actually a good decision as Covid hit in 2020.

Transitioning from Interior Design to Graphic Design was actually an easy transition for me. I took classes in graphic design and learned the basics of photoshop and illustrator. I would have to say that being a designer is what has helped me most of all. Each year my designs continue to evolve. The best part of my day is creating something new for a customer. I always said that I get my best ideas from my customers and it’s true!

I can honestly say that what I do is not like work at all. In fact, it’s so true what they say “Love what you do and you will never work a day in your life.” Of course, some credit has to go to my support staff, mainly my daughter who is my right-hand woman but other family members have helped out in really busy times, even the grandkids!
