Small Cozy Cottage Style Houses

I have always loved small, cozy places and cottage style decorating. Maybe you have heard of the Tiny House Movement.  According to TheTinyHouse.Com the typical American home is around 2600 square feet and the typical small or tiny house is around 100-400 square feet. In fact, in 1950 the average American home measured just 983 square feet. By 2004 that average had grown to 2,340 square feet and the number is still growing. But is bigger really better? HGTV has two shows dedicated to tiny houses: Tiny House Hunters and Tiny House Builders.  I recently came across a great article about organizing RV kitchens that has lots of good advise on living small. I love small, just not sure if I would like tiny.  Here are some examples of small (not tiny) houses:

This adorable Garden Home Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.
